Outfit #2

Yes, I am standing in the aisle of an Aldi's. Being a student AND working full time isn't exactly lucrative, surprising I know. Haha- so anyway, this is my second outfit for the 30 for 30! I think at this point I'm going to give up trying to put cute numbers on the pictures. They just look pixelated and awful. I actually love working in Adobe Photoshop, I just have zero time. I'm sorry- I promise much better pictures in the future! (Maybe I'll get an awesome camera for my birthday come April *wink wink*). Oh! And this will be my first entry to Everybody Everywear. This blogging thing is kinda fun after all!

Outfit #1

Saturday morning. I woke up at my annoyingly normal 7:00 am, and then blissfully fell back asleep until 11. It was so nice. Steve and I decided to go down the street for some breakfast, which turned out to be just iced coffee, since we missed the cut off for breakfast. Oh well. The rest of the day involved us perusing around town getting curtains and paint for our bedroom renovation. A relaxing and fun Saturday!

30 for 30 picks

Finally! My 30 for 30 picks! I'm just going to put it out there: I'm boring. Yes, I said it. And no, I'm not talking about my life (I sometimes wish that were a little more boring) instead, I'm talking about my wardrobe. Perhaps I'm a little more colorful in the summer, but when there is any amount of snow on the ground, I bust out layers of grays and blacks.

I didn't count my cat as one of my 30... cats are accessories, right?

Lost Camera

I happened across this blog, Eclectic Owl the other day (this girl is seriously adorable!) which then led me to Kendi Everyday (also very cool). She does this challenge every once in a while called 30 for 30. Basically, you are limited to 30 pieces of clothing in which you must make 30 different outfits. I love this idea! It basically gets you to think outside of the box when putting together ensembles and really helps you take full advantage of the many possibilities your closet has to offer! I'm definitely doing it! I might not be very good at it... but it'll be fun anyway!

Herein lies the problem... I lost my camera this past weekend. Somewhere between Hofbrauhaus and the parking garage. Luckily I had all my pictures uploaded on my computer (except for that night of course, hence why I only have drunken ridiculous pictures from a friend), but I'm still super bummed about it. It was a Cannon Power Shot- about 4 years old, so nothing special- but I was in love. And now I feel naked. So anyway, here's a cell phone shot of me at Dave and Buster's. Hopefully I'll be buying a new camera this weekend or finding a used on on ebay so I can start on the challenge soon!

Haufbrau haus

This Saturday we went to Hofbrauhaus to celebrate my friend’s graduation from the Military! We got there a little early so we could have some dinner. Dinner there is very good, if you like authentic German cuisine. Of course, we ended up waiting over an hour for a seat, so I was pretty saturated by the time we actually got our food. I think I got some sort of bratwurst? Afterwards, we stood up on the benches and danced to the German band!

SAI Party

That Saturday night we got all fancied up and went to a holiday party put on by the company I used to work for. They are a small government contracting company who really treasure their employees, and I just feel so lucky to be invited every year.

Here's the four of us at the party, off the dance floor just long enough to take this picture. Here's the dress that I wore. I was trying to go for a more dressy business-casual look. I think I did alright, although I wish it were just a bit longer. I wasn't super comfortable with how short it was.
Three of my favorite people! I've already mentioned L, in the middle. But on the right is my brother's girlfriend- who we all just adore! Seriously tho, she's awesome- so much fun!
Ok, I couldn't help myself with this one. The food was sooo good! I tried to take a picture of our meal, but the lighting was just not working for me. Instead of plated meals, they had stations. Which I think is just wonderful with the amount of people there (around 300). Two of each, the stations were as follows: appetizers, salads, soups, main meal, and then side dishes. So there was a bit of a line at first, but no table picking like there is for a buffet-style meal. And the food was seriously amazing. And of course the deserts- yum!

DC

This past weekend Steve, myself and two of our best friends drove 4 hours (okay, 4 hours and 13 minutes to be exact) to Washington DC to visit some friends and family! We got to my brother's house around 10 and quickly downed the shots he had waiting for us. lol- I wish I were kidding about that. Anyway we tried to get home at a decent hour that night after the bars since my friend L had never been to DC before! So of course we had to get up early the next morning and do a little sight-seeing! And by ‘early’ I mean around 10… hey, that’s early for a Saturday! We didn’t get to do too much walking around, since it was freezing! But we did get to see the White House, Washington Monument, WW11 Memorial, and Lincoln.
Here's a really far-off picture of us: my brother, Steve, myself, L and C (from left to right)
